Nathalie Manfrino


Universal-DECCA released Nathalie Manfrino’s second solo recording album, “Méditations”, a tribute to JULES MASSENET, with the Monte-Carlo philharmonic orchestra conducted by Michel Plasson.

Having obtained a lyrical degree at the Paris Conservatoire, Nathalie MANFRINO then enters L’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. In June 2000, she graduates and is nominated “first with special congratulations” from the Jury. In December 1999, she wins the « E.Chausson » first prize at the Maîtres du Chant Français competition. In August 2000, she is the first prize winner at the International Vocal Competition of Marmande. September 2000, again, she wins the «Grand Prix », at the International Vocal Competition of Toulouse . She is also laureate of the «Voix Nouvelles » competition (New Voices) 2002 in Paris.

In December 2000, she sings J.S. BACH’s “Christmas Oratorio” and the “Deutsche Requiem” (J. BRAHMS) in Paris , The National Orchestra of the Baleares invites her to sing Mozart’s “Coronation Mass” in Palma de Majorca. Nathalie also sings the St.Saëns‘s “Chrismas Oratorio” and the “Coeli Enarrant” psalme in Paris. In Torino’s Regio Theatre Mozart’s Requiem. The Rossini Stabat Mater for the St Denis festival and Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony at the Sorbonne.

In November 2001, Nathalie Manfrino makes her debut on stage as Mélisande in Debussy’s “PELLEAS et MELISANDE” at the Marseille Opera House, and in Toulouse’s Theatre du Capitole. July 2003 sees Nathalie as Roxane in Alfano’s “CYRANO de BERGERAC” in Montpellier’s Opera-Comédie and for the Radio-France Festival (DVD-Deutsche Grammophon). She also appears as a special guest singer in a recital in Puerto Rico (DVD).

In February 2005, she is Constance in Poulenc’s “DIALOGUES des CARMELITES” at the St. Etienne Opera House.June 2005, she is Sophie in “WERTHER” in Torino (DVD-Deutsche Grammophon), again Mélisande in “PELLEAS et MELISANDE”, and also Marguerite in “FAUST” at the National Opera House in Nice, in Avignon and in Korea. To conclude the year, she sings for the New Year’s Eve Gala Concert at l’Opera Garnier in Paris.After that, she returns to Montpellier to sing Roxane in “CYRANO de BERGERAC”, In Hong-Kong she was Manon “MANON” and Michaela in “CARMEN”. In Nice she sings Violetta, “TRAVIATA” and Manon “MANON”. Then Eurydice, “ORPHEE”, in St Etienne; Juliette, “ROMEO et JULIETTE”, in La Maestranza Theatre of Sevilla (Spain) directed by Michel Plasson; Fiordiligi, “COSI FAN TUTTE”, in the Nice Opera House and in Avignon; Rozenn, “LE ROI D’YS”, in St Etienne. Manon, “MANON”, in the Massimo Theatro of Palermo with Michel Plasson. Mimi “BOHEME” in Bordeaux and Marseilles, Juliette “ROMEO et JULIETTE” in Sevilla, Dublin, Toulon and Korea. Roxane “CYRANO de BERGERAC” in Monaco. Recently she sings Thaïs, “THAÏS” in the Teatro Regio Torino and for the Massenet Festival in St Etienne; Hero “Béatrice et Bénédict” in the Théâtre des Champs Elysée with Sir Colin Davis. Kraus of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; the Geneva Chamber Orchestra; Smetana Hall of Prague; International Festival of Harare Zimbabwe (Africa); the National Concert hall of Dublin; “La Philarmonie” of Luxembourg; the Bozar in Brussels; Durban (South Africa) and with the Malaysian Philharmonic orchestra of Kuala Lumpur…

For UNIVERSAL, she participated with pop singers such as Sting and Elvis Costelo in the recording of the new opera “Welcome to the Voice “. She also recorded her first disc,”French Heroines” with The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra,” DECCA label, which received the “Golden Orpheus” and the “Georg Solti prize”.
